November 2011 Meeting Minutes

> Steve was introduced as the new Y director for Bradford.

> Explanation of the new “Y” branding/logo was explained by Steve and Michelle.

> Michelle spoke about the Bi-Laws, they are still a work in progress, as soon as they are completed, each parent will receive a copy as well as they will be posted on the website.

> A treasurer’s report will be detailed within the next few months. We are in the process of getting a proper format for one.

Old Business:

* Gym-O-Rama was a great success! Thank you to the parents and gymnast who participated, the girls had a great time. There were 36 girls who participated and raised $1,520.00.

* With the proceeds that were raised from the Gym-O-Rama, we are able to have a Christmas bowling party for the girls and purchase gifts for the coaches. The Christmas party will be held on December 17, 2011 from 1:45-4:00.

* Our spring floor is in need of new springs, as there were some that were broken from last year’s event. We will be ordering them soon to have them here for our state meet.

New Business:

* Leo Sale- November’s order is in. It will need to be inventoried before we can start the sale. Please see Natalie O’Neil with any questions.

* Candle Sale- We have a few parents request that we do a candle sale. This sale will begin today Thursday, November 03, 2011 and go until November 19, 2011. Please remember that you are not required to sell.

* It was voted on at the meeting about Team Pictures. Randy Frey will be the photographer for the Flames this year. Randy takes fantastic pictures and has a daughter on team.

* A clothing order will be offered soon. All clothing will have the “Y” branding on it.

* There has been 3 meets added in New York State they are:

* March 4th- Batavia Invitational

* March 25th- Northwest (Rochester) April 25th- New York States- ALL LEVELS- Batavia

* We have been invited to participate in the Santa Claus Lane Parade in Olean, NY on Friday, November 25th in the evening. Kelly Hendrix is heading this and the parent volunteers for this parade are Eric Hollamby and Brian Fortuna. Thank you guys for volunteering!!!! Further information to follow. Please sign your daughter up if you wish to participate.

* Level 3 & 4 States has been approved to be at the Olean Y this year! This is very exciting news for us.

* We are also looking for “theme” ideas for the State level 3 & 4 meet. If you would like to share your “theme” ideas, please see a board member.

* There was also discussion on a Meet and Greet for new and veteran parents. We will put together a session to help out our new parents.

* It was brought to our attention that parents would like a calling list for possible carpooling or a buddy system at the meets. We have only received 14 papers back from June when the information sheets were sent out. We will be resending them out and ask that you please fill out the form and put the completed form in Lisa Stiles’ (Secretary) folder. If you do not return a sheet, we will not place your name on the calling list.

* An apology was given by Lisa Stiles for using the word Mandatory for the past fundraiser. Lisa has decided to stay on the board as the secretary for this season.
